A Christmas Gift indeed - a pop-up nativity scene consumes inside of this Ronco double album. Thanks parents! Also look closely to see Jesus has a cat.
GROOVE! And that’s an order. Got this mix cassette at a street stall blasting out some funky tune on Camden High St about 20 years ago. Side A is “Latino Jazz”; Side B is, natch, the “flip side”. It’s ace.
Recorded in 1981 and featuring the best of the TV marionette theme tunes, including a song by Lady Penelope called ‘Parker, Well Done.’.
Forget drum and bass - far too harsh. Here’s some ‘Bass and Drums’. But the real reason I picked this out of a Kings Heath charity shop crate was the name - Digits McPhee. There can be no better name for a pub piano player surely. And who’s that twinkly-eyed captain on the microphone? Great cover - now to make my ears bleed with a listen. :)
